Winter Roll Sessions

During the winter/early spring months, Toledo River Gang (kayaking club) hosts kayak pool sessions on Sundays at the Fort Meigs (Perrysburg) YMCA for club members. Four things to remember about kayak pool sessions:

  1. TRG club membership is required to participate in pool sessions for safety and insurance purposes. To join our kayak club, visit our Membership page.
  2. Members must a clean their boats prior to entering the pool. To clean the boat, it is advised to scrub the interior and exterior with bleach water.
  3. Club members are encouraged to help teach classes.
  4. The kayak pool session schedule new in 2023:
    Sundays January 8th until February 19th,  8:00AM to 9:45AM.     Classes from 8:45AM to 9:45AM
    No classes: Sundays February 26th – March 12 9:00AM to Noon.

Summer Roll Sessions

Check out our Facebook Group: Toledo River Gang Paddling Club for up-to-the-minute posted events and other paddling activity.

Wednesday nights from June to August, Toledo River Gang members meet to practice and socialize. We meet at Turkey Foot or Roche Boeuf rapids on the Maumee River or at the one of our club member’s private pond.

These sessions provide a good setting to meet and greet other TRG members, try out different types of boats, and practice your roll.

Although summers in Northwest Ohio tend to be warm, be sure to bring a variety of synthetic (non-cotton) clothing to layer if necessary. PFDs (life vests) and helmets should be worn at all times.
